What are the A and B sides?

The A side is usually the isocyanate; the B side is the resin blend with pigments and additives. They're mixed in a fixed ratio at the gun.

Why is the material heated?

Heat lowers viscosity so the two sides mix and atomize properly.

What happens if the ratio is off?

Off-ratio material can stay soft or brittle, or bond poorly. That's why equipment calibration matters.

Are the chemicals hazardous during spraying?

Isocyanates are respiratory sensitizers. Applicators need proper ventilation and respiratory protection, and bystanders should stay clear.

Is the cured liner hazardous?

Fully cured liners are generally inert in normal use. Check the product's safety data sheet for specifics.

Why do some liners fade?

Aromatic isocyanates absorb UV and can darken or chalk. Aliphatic topcoats resist this.

Polyurea forms when an isocyanate and an amine blend react at the spray gun. The result cures in seconds into a dense, cross-linked elastomer that is far less permeable than paint or thin rubber mats. Is a polyurea bedliner really chemical resistant?

Resistance depends on the formulation and the chemical. Many polyureas handle fuels, oils, fertilizer and common cleaners well; strong solvents or acids may need a specific system. Tell the applicator what you carry.

How is it different from a drop-in liner?

A drop-in sits on top of the bed and can trap water, grit and spilled liquids underneath. A sprayed liner bonds to the metal, so nothing gets between it and the bed.

Can you line a van or trailer floor?

Yes. Plywood, aluminum and steel floors can be prepared and sprayed, and walls can be lined up to a chosen height.

What about a bed that already has rust?

Surface rust is removed and the metal is treated before spraying. Deep rot may need repair first; the applicator will check during the quote.

Will the color fade?

Aromatic polyureas can chalk or darken in sunlight. An aliphatic topcoat helps keep the color even on trucks that sit outside.
